Bonacio Construction renovated and expanded the Round Lake Volunteer Fire Station in collaboration with the Malta Ridge Volunteer Fire Company. Approximately 1,495 SF of existing space was demolished and renovated, including the bathrooms, storage room, kitchen, and training areas. The new addition, measuring 1,311 square feet, was constructed with concrete and features a great room, an AV/IT area, and additional storage. Matching the new spaces to the existing building was essential and required creating an exterior façade using the same materials, including vinyl siding and composite trim, as the rest of the structure. The interior finishes of the new construction and renovated areas included wood-paneled wainscoting, VCT and carpeted flooring, acoustical ceiling tiles, and tile wainscoting in the bathrooms.
