The Algonquin

Historic Preservation

Built in 1892, the Algonquin was one of the earliest multi-family buildings in Saratoga Springs offering luxury living. Its renovation involved changing the interior layout o more closely resemble the original structure while maintaining the historic woodwork. This is most noticeable in the building’s 4-story atrium which still has its original guardrails. An elevator was removed to allow for a more dramatic effect and the space was finished with Romanesque details. Upgrades in the building were also made to meet safety standards and install modern fixtures. The 28 rental units now boast floor-to-ceiling windows, some with balconies, and penthouse units with rooftop decks and lofts.
