The Van Dam Condominiums
Established in 1903 at the height of the Victorian boom, 77 Van Dam Street was constructed as School Number 2. After the school closed in the 1970s, the building was repurposed for apartments and commercial space on the lower level. When the building became available for sale in 2019, Bonacio Development recognized the marketability of redeveloping this undervalued property into condominiums to create an ownership opportunity within walking distance of downtown. The 1-3 bedroom condominiums range from 680SF to 1,345 SF in this 3-story building. Bonacio Construction made significant efforts to retain the historic charm with exposed brick, wooden beam details, hardwood floors, and original tin ceilings while upgrading the renovated spaces to modern standards. New features include an elevator, plumbing and HVAC, and Juliet balcony rails created and installed by Bonacio Steel.
